Q + A

Is the ceremony/reception indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, are all outdoors at the Bahia Resort Hotel! The after-party is a bon fire on the public bay next to the resort.

What's the weather typically like in San Diego in September?

We call September the local's summer; tourist season has come to an end, but the summer weather is here to stay! Expects highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the mid 60s. September is dry season, so rain is extremely rare. Expect clear and sunny skies, warm days, cooler evenings and gorgeous sunsets!

What do I wear to an outdoor beach wedding?

For the ceremony, we will be outside in a lush garden setting, set up on a grass lawn, and little shade. Once the reception moves to the bay, we’ll be on the sand—so feel free to kick off your shoes & go barefoot! The dress code is coastal semi-formal, think light & breezy. We can expect the weather will be warm during the day and cool after sunset, so we suggest bringing a light sweater to stay comfy during the later part of the reception.

What's the parking situation?

Overnight guests receive one complimentary unassigned parking spot per room. Free public parking is available on a limited basis on Gleason Road and Ventura Cove - overflow parking is also available on Bonita Cove. Parking may be crowded on the weekends and carpooling is highly encouraged.

What is the best transportation option to & from the airport?

The resort is 15 minutes (7 miles) from the airport. Once you land in San Diego, taking an Uber or Lyft is the easiest, most affordable transportation option to get to the resort. If you prefer a car service, Unique Transportation (www.utsd.com) has a flat rate to the Bahia.

Do I need a car in San Diego?

There's lots to do within walking distance of the resort, and if you stick to the nearby beach areas, a bike will do the trick! Uber or Lyft rideshare services are abundant in San Diego, and short rides tend to be affordable. If you plan to explore San Diego beyond the beach areas, most destinations are no more than 20 minutes away, making Uber/Lyft a great option. If you are not a fan of the rideshare apps, and you plan to leave the nearby beach areas, you will want to rent a car to explore San Diego.
